How it works
No AI, no black box: simple, public rules applied to a database of manufacturer data sheets.
1. Hard filters
Licence (A1: 125 cc and 11 kW; A2: 35 kW bikes or restrictable ones), budget (new or used price, as you choose), seat height compared with your inseam (measured, or estimated from your height), limited power for beginners.
2. The score
Each remaining bike gets a score out of 100: fit between your riding and its category, your 2 priorities, pillion, weight and ease of riding depending on your experience.
3. A varied top 3
When two bikes score close, we favour different categories to widen your options.
4. The reasons
For each bike, 2 or 3 concrete reasons: seat height, A2 restriction, weight, comfort…
5. The estimated monthly cost
Insurance (depending on the bike and your experience), yearly maintenance divided by 12 and fuel based on your mileage. Starter gear is shown separately.
6. The data
Specifications come from manufacturer data sheets. Ratings (comfort, pillion…) and costs are editorial estimates, labelled as such.
